Yuji Machida
Yuji Machida joined McKinsey & Company in 1991, after graduating from the Faculty of Law at Kyoto University. He served as a Leader of IT, High-tech and Internet Related Practices in company offices in Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. He worked on various projects related to organizational change, acquisitions, and urban development. At the same time, he was in charge of recruitment and training. Yuji Machida is a Roger Klein Award winner. After becoming an Associate Partner, he went independent, working with Rimnet, Unison Capital and others.
In September 2013, he started his own company as a representative of BODAI, Inc. Ltd. developing the “art thinking” services related to corporate revitalization and organizational change consulting, as well as new business/IoT/AI business consulting.
In 2017-18, he served as Tokyo Metropolitan Advisor and Special Counselor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Reform Headquarters.
He also serves as “Arts Economics” Advisor at Innovation Management Science Research Division, Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration Headquarters, Kyoto University.
He is active as an artist based in Tokyo. In 1999, he held a solo exhibition in New York. He has lived in Osaka, Tokyo, New York, Shanghai and Seoul.
